We are always interested in a conversation with experienced welders/fabricators looking for a place to perform their works, in a place where they truly desire to live.  

Our works are exceptionally high end, with fine aesthetic qualities.  All individuals on our staff are executing on their calling, their desired choice of trade.  This is far different than simply having a job at a metal shop.  There are metal shops everywhere, and many metal shops have jobs, and employees doing a job.   Forgeworks is comprised of a synergistic assembly of individuals with talent, camaraderie, enjoyment of their craft & calling, love for the area, and outdoor recreation. 

Besides experience and talent, a good fit with our staff is as equally important.  One very unique component of this fit includes combining a sincere passion for this trade with an appetite for the outdoor lifestyle on the Western Slope of Colorado.  We work and play on the North end of the San Juan mountains.  Our staff either live in Ridgway, Ouray or Montrose, which are all communities that are made up of people who purposefully chose this area.  Commonalities in the reasons to live here include the mountain setting and backdrop, and the access to outdoor interests of exceptional quality.  

Because of where we live, we have elected to set our workweek as (4) 10’s, so our crew will have three-day weekends to fully enjoy the reasons for their choice to live here.  

 
 
 

Positions Available

  • We operate an active Colorado State recognized 4-Year Apprenticeship Program

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in metal working, which would likely include experience from a production style shop, featuring multi-process, heavy welding, with reasonable layout skills, and fabrication knowledge.

  • 5+ years of experience, reasonable exposure to higher end work, art, interior/architectural pieces, high end production, or technical welding, with tight tolerances.  Adept at interpreting drawings, recognition of typical weld symbols.  Excellent practices of layout, fit up procedures, sequence of assembly.  Expected to have a fair inventory of personal tools.

 
 

We produce very high end custom architectural products for new construction or finished homes.   We also have a niche stainless steel department, building small craft brewery equipment, and high-end stainless products such as sinks, dog washes, outdoor barbeque grills and cabinetry.
